Special Free Encore Performance of "Sounds of Brazil"

Brooks Memorial United Methodist Church is hosting a Free Special Encore Performance of the highly acclaimed "Sounds of Brazil" performances with the world class jazz ensemble the Ed Jackson Quartet. Ed Jackson is a legendary jazz musician who plays the saxophone with extraordinary aplomb.

Jackson traveled to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, over the summer. Ed was so inspired by the many great musicians, that he performed with there, that he decided the theme for his next gig would be "Sounds of Brazil." Sounds of Brazil, will take place on Sat, December 21st at 5 pm..
We believe you'll also appreciate the Brazilian influence on Jazz music as well. Attend Sounds of Brazil, December 21st, 2013, at 5 pm at Brooks Memorial. Come out and be soulfully renewed with this captivating performance of cross cultural jazz next Saturday.

The Performers for "Sounds of Brazil" are:

- Drummer Willie Martinez leader and vocalist of the Popular La Familia Sextet

- Master Bassist Ron Monroe

- Pianist Akiko Tsuruga an active player on the NY Scene

- Saxophonist, Ed Jackson Just Back from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

"End Your Year On a HIGH Note!" An Uplifting Night of Music to Inspire Your New Year

The "Jazz UP Your Holidays" performance last Thanksgiving weekend was a blast!  Because of patrons like you it was one of our most successful Jackson Room events ever!

Our Jackson Room performances exclusively featuring the Ed Jackson Quartet is continuing to grow in popularity as we become the "go to" place for jazz in South Queens.

We feature world class musicians in our community every month to uplift and entertain you. If you are like me last year was a challenging year.  My brother Dave passed away and other talented jazz musicians I personally knew are no longer with us this year.

However, we'll look forward to the New Year with great anticipation, expectations, and new goals. Therefore, we'll perform exceptional and inspirational jazz to help "End Your Year on a HIGH Note!"

So in keeping with this "Month's End Jazz Motivations" we'd like to Enrich Your Holiday Season with electrifying jazz and help "End Your Year on a HIGH Note!"  We've put together a great ensemble for your listening pleasure this Saturday, December 28th, 2013.

Be there, December, 28th, 2013, at Jackson Room for this Special Year End Performance. This gig promises to bring in the New Year with a Jazz Tour De Force!
