"Sounds of Brazil" The Jazz Cross Cultural Presentation is a Success!

The Home of Jazz, St. Albans, Queens, New York hosted a great cross cultural jam session last Saturday night - September, 28th, 2013.  The jam session was called "Sounds of Brazil" and featured the highly regarded Ed Jackson Quartet.

The Quartet Performance featured outstanding world class jazz musicians like...

- Master Bassist Ron Monroe, who has performed & recorded with Ed Jackson extensively.

- Drummer Willie Martinez,  leader and vocalist of the popular La Familia Sextet. He also recorded with Ed Jackson on his 2nd CD release "Chapter 2".

- Pianist Nial Djuliarso is an active player on the NY Scene who also plays in Winard Harpers Band. He is a dynamic young player.

Saxophonist Ed Jackson, Just Back from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - who was inspired to create this jazz cross cultural collaboration from his enriching trips to Rio de Janiero, Brazil.

The 4 talents comprising the Quartet played sensationally to an appreciate packed house of jazz patrons that night. The quartet played as a unit very well, as they did well on the individualized jazz solos within the sets that also glowed with musical aplomb.

We thank all of those who came out for this event and made it a BIG success.  Attendance in Jackson Room has grown about $300% in the last 6 months.

We are dedicated to bringing world class jazz to our community again - the home of jazz.  Jackson Room is now the "Go To:" place for Jazz in South Queens. Come check us out every last Saturday of the Month in our Month's End Jazz Motivations.
