Begin Summer On a Jazzy Note

It's been almost 3 years that we've been performing to warm receptive audiences at Jackson Room. I sincerely thank supportive people like you for making this anniversary possible.  Without you achieving a milestone like 3 years of performances at Jackson Room wouldn't be possible.

On that note the Summer heat is also slowly but surely beginning to warm things up.  Although the cooler temperatures seem to want to linger with us the warming trend cannot be denied much longer.

Consistent with the unstoppable seasonal heating trends the Ed Jackson Quartet, and events at Jackson Room, have been rising in warmth and intensity.  The summer is a great time to experience the invigorating soulful spark of jazz. Why not come out this month and bask in the uplifting glow of our comm-

unity enlivened with irresistible music as a tribute to our last 3 years sharing our passion for jazz.

What better time than the initial summer season to get out and enjoy jazz with friends, family, and loved ones?  I'd like to personally invite you to "Begin the Summer on a Jazzy Note," June 27th, 2015, with the Ed Jackson Quartet.  As always our goal is to continue to "bring world class jazz back to our com

Tribute to the Jazz Legends of Queens

It was a blast playing with the Ed Jackson Quartet, in our last performance "Spring into Jazz!" It was especially nice to perform in front of the Jackson Room crowd again with receptive supporters like you. Prior to the last performance I had the honor of playing with special guests AndJam. But I really enjoyed playing with members of the quartet again in our last performance. It was good to be back together in front of the electrifying Jackson Room crowd.

The performances at Jackson Room are in the true spirit and rich tradition of jazz in Southeast Queens. In keeping with the great tradition of jazzin Queens, and especially Southeast Queens, we will be doing an exclusive performance themed "Tribute to the Jazz Legends of Queens."

This section of Queens that Jackson Room calls home has also been the home, at one time or another, to jazz legends like Count Basie, Fats Waller, Billie Holiday, John Coltrane, Lena Horne, Ella Fitzgerald, and Mercer Ellington, and many more. Queens in general has a rich tradition of Jazz legends who have resided here.

What better place to commemorate the great jazz tradition of southern Queens thanlistening to riveting jazz at Jackson Room? Why don't you come out and see who we give tribute to representing the great jazz artists who lived in South Queens?

I am elated to have confirmed for this special performance a legend in jazz in his own right, the renowned George Cables, will be on piano that evening. The joint in Jamaica Queens, St. Albans, will definitely be jumping.  So come on out and enjoy "Tribute to the Jazz Legends of Queens" - The Ed Jackson Quartet Gives Homage to the Legacy, Saturday, April 25th, 2015.

Our cadre of talented featured performers for the evening are...

George Cables - Piano

Marcus McLaurine - Bass

Lionel Cordew - Drums

Yours Truly Ed Jackson - Alto Saxophone

As usual the Jackson Room events are well attended so I advise for you to book yourreservation right now. This is a special performance giving homage to the "World class jazz in our community" so be there or be square. Secure your seat by clicking hereto RSVP right away.
